The Intersexions series, created in collaboration with Caroline Earley explore ideas relating to boundary crossing and the construction of gender. Biomorphic ceramic forms derive from and coerce familiar, yet de-contextualized images and riff on the language of xy chromosomes in a manner that is reminiscent of an equation. Bright color and flocking accentuate humor and add a festive absurdity. 3D forms become surfaces for 2D image making and cut canvases take the form of sculptural crafted objects.
